Visa Requirements
Citizens of the Republic of Belarus do not require a visa to enter Georgia. The visa-free stay period in Georgia has been extended to 360 days.
Required Documents for Entry
- A passport valid for the duration of the trip (the Consular Service of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Belarus recommends replacing passports older than 10 years); the passport must have at least one blank page;
- A tourist service voucher.
Entry into Georgia directly through South Ossetia and Abkhazia is prohibited. Also, if your passport contains stamps indicating a visit to Abkhazia and North Ossetia, entry into Georgia will not be permitted.
Customs Regulations
The following items can be imported duty-free:
- up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, up to 10 liters of beer, up to 3 liters of alcoholic beverages, including a total of 1 liter of alcoholic product with an alcohol content of 22% or more, or undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content of 80% or more, or 2 liters of alcoholic product with an alcohol content of less than 22%, or a combination of alcoholic products, provided the sum of the percentage shares of each type does not exceed 100%;
- Import of foreign currency is not limited; import of national currency is limited to 25,000 GEL.
The following items can be exported duty-free from Georgia:
- Jewelry declared upon entry into Georgia.
- Foreign currency previously imported within one year from the date of entry; national currency – no more than 3,000 GEL.
- Export of wine and other alcoholic beverages is permitted only in sealed factory packaging. Export of 3 liters of alcohol is allowed, with the possibility to extend the limit to 5 liters for an additional fee.
It is strictly prohibited to exit the bus during border crossing, engage in conversations with border officials, take photographs, or record video. In such cases, cameras will be confiscated by border guards and will not be returned. If you have a fake or expired passport, or if your passport contains erroneous data, you may be removed from the route. At customs, you, your luggage, and your hand luggage are subject to inspection. You must present a customs declaration.
Good to Know:
Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Georgia.
When exchanging US dollars and euros, you may gain a slight advantage on the exchange rate; also note that finding an exchange office that handles Russian rubles may be slightly more difficult. However, they can always be exchanged at major banks, such as Bank of Georgia, which has branches at every Tbilisi metro station and in every Georgian city.
It is customary to leave a tip of 5-10% of the bill in Georgian restaurants, although there are no strict rules in this regard.
It is not recommended to discuss the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict in conversations.
