Visa Requirements

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus do not require a visa to enter Georgia. The visa-free stay period in Georgia has been extended to 360 days.

Required Documents for Entry

1. A passport valid for the duration of the trip (the Consular Service of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Belarus recommends replacing passports older than 10 years); the passport must contain at least one blank page;
2. An insurance policy (as of January 1, 2026, tourists entering Georgia are required to have an insurance policy in paper or electronic form in Georgian or English). The insurance coverage amount must be at least 30,000 GEL.
3. A tour service voucher.

Travelling with Children:

Children under 18 must have their own passport to travel abroad, and:

– With one parent: a birth certificate is required. Consent from the other parent is not required unless a formal travel ban has previously been issued by a court.

– Without parents (in a group / with an escort): notarized consent from both parents is required. 

Customs Regulations

The following may be imported into the country duty-free: 

• up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, up to 10 L of beer, up to 3 L of alcoholic beverage, including a combined total of 1 litre of alcoholic product with an alcohol content of 22% or more, or undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content of 80% or more, or 2 litres of alcoholic product with an alcohol content of less than 22%, or a combination of types of alcoholic products, provided that the sum of the percentage shares of each type of alcoholic product included does not exceed 100;
• There is no limit on the import of foreign currency; national currency may not exceed 25,000 lari.

The following may be exported from Georgia duty-free: 

• jewellery declared upon entry into Georgia.
• foreign currency previously imported, within one year of the date of entry; national currency – no more than 3,000 lari.
• Export of wine and other alcoholic beverages is permitted only in sealed factory packaging. Export of 3 L of alcohol is allowed, with the option to extend the limit to 5 L for an additional fee.

Good to Know:

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Georgia.

When exchanging dollars and euros, you may gain slightly on the exchange rate; also note that finding an exchange point that deals with rubles may be somewhat more difficult. However, they can always be exchanged at major banks, such as Bank of Georgia, which has branches at every Tbilisi metro station and in every Georgian city.

In Georgian restaurants, it is customary to leave a tip of 5–10% of the bill, although there are no strict rules in this regard.

It is not recommended to bring up the topic of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict in conversation.
