Visa Requirements
Entry to Australia for citizens of Belarus is permitted only with a valid visa.
Required Documents for Entry:
- Passport with a visa, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay.
- Return flight ticket or ticket to another destination for onward travel;
- Confirmed hotel/resort booking;
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses in Australia;
- Completed passenger arrival card and/or customs declaration before passport control;
- Travel insurance policy.
Customs Regulations
Duty-free allowances:
Tourists aged 16 and over can bring in up to 1 litre of alcoholic beverages duty-free. An adult passenger (regardless of residency) can carry up to 50 cigarettes or 50 grams of tobacco duty-free. The previous limits (250 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco) have been reduced by 80%. Upon arrival at the airport, you and your luggage may be sprayed with a disinfectant.
If carrying cash exceeding the equivalent of 5,000 AUD in total, it must be declared.
When departing the country, each passenger aged 12 and over pays a departure tax.
Items prohibited from export from Australia (in addition to commonly known items):
export of animals and plants, wildlife items (corals, shells, reptiles), items of historical value (without appropriate permits), items made of wood and bamboo, leather, bone, bird feathers, shells, and corals.
Good to Know:
Australian customs does not have the TAX FREE system familiar to Europeans, but there is a similar program called the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS). You can get a refund of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) included in the price of goods. The system works very simply: purchase goods worth at least 300 AUD in a single store and be sure to keep all receipts. After passing through security screening, look for the TRS office and present the purchased items and receipts (all goods must be in your carry-on luggage). As a result, you will receive a refund of approximately 13% of the value.
