Visa Requirements
A tourist visa for citizens of the Republic of Belarus is issued upon arrival, valid for 30 days (visa cost is 100 QAR (~ $27.4)).
Required Documents for Entry
- Passport (the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the trip end date); Children under 18 must have their own passport for traveling abroad, with the following conditions: – Traveling unaccompanied by parents/adoptive parents (hereinafter referred to as parents) requires a notarized consent from both parents; - When accompanied by at least one parent, consent from the second parent is not required, but a document confirming the status of the child's legal guardians is necessary;
- Air tickets or e-ticket itinerary/receipt;
- Voucher;
- Proof of funds: $1000 on a credit card or in cash;
- Medical insurance policy;
Customs Regulations
Customs regulations allow duty-free import of perfume (125 ml) and tobacco (up to 400 cigarettes) for personal use.
Import and export of local and foreign currency is not restricted.
Prohibited items for import into the country (in addition to commonly known items):
- any alcoholic products, animal skins; electrical and radio equipment operating on frequencies not permitted by international communication standards; printed materials, audio and video products containing content contrary to Islamic norms; dogs of fighting breeds.
Prohibited items for export from Qatar:
- military uniforms, as well as clothing imitating it; clothing with the names of Allah and verses from the Quran; gambling devices; items and goods that may offend the Muslim faith.
Good to Know:
In Doha, a deposit may be required upon hotel check-in. The deposit amount is typically 1-2 times the daily room rate. The deposit is paid at check-in in any currency, either in cash or by credit card, and is refunded upon check-out in Qatari Riyals (QAR). Alternatively, the hold on your card will be released 5-14 days after your departure, depending on your bank.
In Qatar's capital, Doha, besides the vibrant Souq Waqif market and the luxurious Pearl Qatar promenade, there are many shops and showrooms for those who prefer familiar shopping. The most well-known shopping centers are: Villaggio, Vendom, Mall of Qatar, Doha Festival City Mall, City Centre Mall, Laguna Mall.
Shops are usually open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Entry to mosques is strictly limited for non-Muslims.
At markets and in private shops, bargaining is possible and expected. In large stores, prices are fixed, but even there, with the right approach, you can negotiate a small discount.
Milk in Qatar is not pasteurized, so it should be heat-treated. The same applies to vegetables. Fruits should be eaten peeled. Meat and fish should be well-cooked.
In public places, women should avoid overly revealing or tight-fitting clothing and mini-skirts, and men should avoid shorts or sleeveless shirts.
