Visa Requirements
Citizens of the Republic of Belarus require a Schengen visa to enter the Italian Republic.
Required Documents for Entry
- Passport (valid for at least 3 months beyond the tour end date);
- Return ticket, or ticket to a third country;
- Hotel booking confirmation (tourist voucher);
- Medical insurance policy
Customs Regulations
Duty-free allowances include: no more than 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of smoking tobacco; 1 litre of spirits or alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 22% vol. or undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content exceeding 80% vol., or 2 litres of spirits or alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content not exceeding 22% vol.; 4 litres of wine and 16 litres of beer; and other goods up to a value of €430 (toys, perfumes, electronic equipment, etc.).
There are no restrictions on importing currency: amounts exceeding €9,999 per adult must be declared.
If a family with children enters the country and the total amount imported exceeds €9,999 per adult, the parents (adults) are required to declare it. The right to import cash does NOT extend to children.
Important Notes:
A tourist tax (city tax) is levied in Italian cities and resort areas for stays in hotels and other accommodation facilities. It is not included in the tour or accommodation price and must be paid by tourists directly at the hotel reception upon check-in or check-out. Tax rates, as well as their validity periods, are set by local authorities and can vary significantly depending on the city and hotel category.
Many Italian hotels and apartments do not offer 24-hour reception. Therefore, when leaving the hotel in the evening, take your room keys with you (they also open the hotel's main entrance) or return to the hotel by the specific time set by the management.
TAX-FREE shopping is available in most Italian stores (a corresponding sign should be displayed at the entrance). Tax refunds are applicable for purchases starting from €154.94. In Italy, the VAT rate is 22% of the purchase price, which is one of the highest taxes in Europe and the world.
