Maldives

Visa Requirements

For tourism purposes for up to 30 days, a visa is granted on arrival for citizens of the Republic of Belarus upon arrival in the Maldives. An application can also be made to extend the stay for an additional 60 days.

Required Documents for Entry

1. A valid passport with a machine-readable zone (MRZ), which must be valid for at least 1 month from the start of the tour (However, please check the passport validity for other destinations and with the airlines you are traveling with, as they may have rules that will not allow you to travel if your passport has less than 6 months validity); For citizens under 18 years of age traveling with at least one parent, a birth certificate must be carried. For citizens under 18 years of age traveling unaccompanied by parents or guardians, a notarized consent for travel with an accompanying person aged 18 or over is required. In this case, the consent of one parent is sufficient, provided the other parent has not filed an objection to the child's travel abroad;
2. A return air ticket or a ticket to another destination for departure within 30 days of arrival;
3. Confirmed hotel/resort booking or proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses in the Maldives (at least US$100 + US$50 per day, confirmed by cash or bank statement);
4. Health Declaration. All tourists must complete a special form on the website no earlier than 96 hours before arrival to obtain a QR code. Specifics of form completion: in addition to health status, countries visited in the last 14 days, and baggage information, you must upload your photograph. The obtained QR code must be presented during passport control. In the form field 'WHICH ISLAND WILL YOU BE STAYING IN', you must select your hotel's name from the list. If your hotel is not listed, you must select the island closest to the resort. It is possible to fill out the declaration before entry, but with very weak internet. There is a significant risk of missing check-in for your international flight and, consequently, the departure;
5. Travel insurance policy;
6. Currency (We recommend carrying a sufficient amount of cash in foreign currency to be able to pay for goods and services in case of difficulties with a bank card) Attention! US dollars issued before 2009 inclusive are not accepted in the Maldives.

Customs Regulations

All baggage is subject to strict customs control when crossing the border.

Duty-free allowance includes one carton of cigarettes (no more than 200 pieces) and up to 125 ml of perfume. When passing through customs control, you must fill out an immigration card and declare all personal items valued over 200 USD. If any declared item is missing upon departure from the country, a duty will have to be paid.

Items prohibited from import into the Maldives (in addition to commonly known items):

• alcohol (confiscated by customs upon entry into the country), pornographic materials (including sex toys), religious materials offensive to the Islamic State, idols used for religious purposes.

Import of drones and quadcopters (Most Maldivian resorts prohibit the use of drones on their premises). To import a drone/quadcopter into the Maldives, you must obtain permission from the resort where filming will take place. If permission is granted, there are certain restrictions, for example, filming may only be allowed in designated areas and be time-limited).

It is prohibited to export from the country:

• items made of black coral and turtle shell. any corals (live or dead) and other items found in the sea. 

Important Notes:

Breaking, collecting, or exporting corals is strictly prohibited. It is also forbidden to touch shells or engage in underwater fishing near the shore. Swimming in the open sea and at night is prohibited due to strong currents and the unpredictability of marine life. There are no pharmacies in the country, so all medications must be brought with you. Nudism and light topless sunbathing are prohibited, and when visiting Male, clothing covering the body from shoulders to knees is required.
