Visa Requirements

For entry into the Dominican Republic, citizens of the Republic of Belarus require a visa obtained in advance. The visa is issued at the Consulate of the Dominican Republic in Moscow. Citizens of Belarus can enter the Dominican Republic without a pre-arranged visa if they hold a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa (category 'C'), or visas for the USA, Canada, or the United Kingdom. Upon arrival at the airport border crossing, it is necessary to purchase a tourist card (cost $10, valid for 30 days).

Required Documents for Entry

1. Passport (valid for at least 6 months from the end date of the tour);
2. Return ticket, or ticket to a third country;
3. Hotel booking confirmation (tourist voucher);
4. Medical insurance policy;
5. Completed migration card (issued on board the aircraft).

Since January 2021, tourists visiting the Dominican Republic are required to complete the electronic E-Ticket document. It must be filled out no earlier than 72 hours before the start of the trip via the link https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/. If you need to make changes to an already created document, it should be filled out again. Tourists must complete the E-Ticket not only before entering the Dominican Republic but also before leaving it. If a family is traveling, one E-Ticket can be filled out for all relatives (up to 7 people).

Customs Regulations

Filling out a declaration for the import and export of currency into the Dominican Republic is mandatory. The equivalent of an amount exceeding 10,000 US dollars is subject to mandatory declaration. Export of an amount exceeding 10,000 US dollars is only possible if such an amount was declared upon entry into the country.

The import and export of Dominican pesos is strictly prohibited.

When passing through customs control, the following must be declared in the customs declaration:

• Gifts;
• Goods received as donations or inheritance;
• Goods purchased for the home;
• Goods intended for sale or for conducting one's own business;
• Goods purchased on board the aircraft and in duty-free zones.

Gifts valued up to 500 US dollars can be imported duty-free. This right can be used no more than once every 3 months. Goods purchased on board the aircraft and in duty-free zones, with a total value of up to 600 US dollars, can be imported duty-free (only with corresponding receipts confirming these purchases).

The following personal use goods can be imported into the customs territory of the Dominican Republic exempt from customs duties: Tobacco products (adults only): 20 packs of cigarettes or 25 cigars, or 200 grams of smoking tobacco; 1 IQOS device and no more than 200 replacement sticks. The import of any other electronic cigarettes and smoking gadgets is prohibited; Alcoholic beverages (adults only): 3 liters of alcoholic beverages (wine, liqueur, beer, rum, or whiskey — no difference); Medications: the necessary quantity for the duration of stay in the country.

Prohibited for import:

• Any food products (both in hand luggage and checked baggage)

Prohibited for export:

• Any food products (confiscated during inspection), with the possible exception of jarred baby food, jewelry, antiques, historical and artistic valuables.

Good to know:

In hotels, tips are partially already included in the service charge, but it is still customary to leave them for housekeeping and porters. In restaurants, it is customary to leave the waiter about 10% of the amount indicated on the bill.

Bargaining at markets and in Dominican shops is very appropriate — prices for tourists are usually doubled.

In the hotel, keep valuables in the safe. Do not leave anything valuable on the bed, as it may be considered a tip.

Many hotels require their guests to adhere to a dress code in the restaurant.
