Visa requirements

Citizens of Belarus need a Schengen visa to enter the Kingdom of Spain.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) operates at the external borders of the Schengen Area: passports are no longer stamped, and fingerprints and a facial image are taken on first entry.

Documents required for entry

• Passport valid for at least 3 months after leaving the Schengen Area and issued within the last 10 years;
• Return ticket or onward ticket to a third country;
• Hotel booking confirmation (tour voucher);
• Medical insurance.

Customs regulations

You may bring duty-free no more than 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, 1 litre of spirits or 2 litres of wine, 50 g of perfume and 0.25 litres of eau de toilette. Meat and dairy products may not be brought into Spain.

Cash of 10,000 € or more (or the equivalent in another currency) must be declared when entering or leaving Spain.

To take out works of art, precious stones and archaeological items you need a sales receipt and a permit from the competent Spanish authorities.

Good to know:

Keep an eye on your bags and wallets in shops and tourist areas: pickpocketing is common here.

Spain offers VAT refunds (tax free) to shoppers who are not EU residents. The VAT rate is 21%; the amount actually refunded is usually 10–15% of the price, as shops and refund companies keep a share.
