Hotels in Seychelles

Visa requirements

Citizens of Belarus do not need a visa for Seychelles. A Visitor's Permit is issued free of charge on arrival for up to 3 months, provided you have a return ticket, confirmed accommodation and sufficient funds for your stay.

Before departure you must obtain a Travel Authorisation on the official portal seychelles.govtas.com. It is not free: a standard application costs about 12 €, express processing costs more; current prices are shown on the portal. The authorisation is checked at flight check-in and on arrival, so get it in advance.

The stay can be extended for up to 3 months at a time (up to 12 months in total). An extension costs 5,000 SCR per period.

Documents required for entry

• Passport valid for the entire stay. Airlines may require a longer validity, so it is safer to have a passport valid for at least 6 months;
• Approved Travel Authorisation (on your phone or printed);
• Return ticket or onward ticket to a third country;
• Hotel booking confirmation (tour voucher);
• Funds for your stay — you may be asked to show them at passport control;
• Medical insurance.

Hotels charge a Tourism Environmental Sustainability Levy. It is paid on site, per person per night:

• hotels with up to 24 rooms — not charged;
• hotels with 25–50 rooms — 75 SCR;
• hotels with more than 50 rooms, yachts and island resorts — 100 SCR.

Children under 12 are exempt. The hotel decides which currencies it accepts for the levy.

Customs regulations

Persons over 18 may bring duty-free:

• 2 litres of beverages up to 16% and 2 litres over 16%;
• 200 cigarettes or 250 g of tobacco;
• 200 ml of perfume;
• other goods worth up to 15,000 SCR.

Importing animals and animal products requires a veterinary certificate from the country of origin and a permit from the Seychelles Veterinary Services.

Jewellery may be taken out with a certificate, works of art — with a permit from the Ministry of Culture.

Good to know:

Tipping is optional: service is usually included in the bill.

Wi-Fi is available in the capital and in large hotels on the islands. Mobile internet in Seychelles is expensive.

On the islands it is forbidden to hand-feed birds and turtles or to collect shells.
