Hotels in Cuba

Visa requirements

Citizens of Belarus do not need a visa for a tourist trip to Cuba of up to 30 days: the two countries have a visa-free travel agreement. The electronic tourist visa (eVisa) is not required for Belarusian citizens.

Before departure, every traveller, including children, completes the D'Viajeros electronic form at dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu — no earlier than 7 days before the trip. The data goes to the immigration service, customs and the Ministry of Health. The QR code you receive is shown at flight check-in and on arrival — printed or on your phone screen.

Documents required for entry

• Passport valid for the entire trip;
• D'Viajeros QR code;
• Return ticket or onward ticket to a third country;
• Hotel booking confirmation (tour voucher);
• Medical insurance — it is checked on entry to Cuba.

Customs regulations

You may bring duty-free 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 250 g of tobacco, 2 bottles of alcoholic beverages, as well as perfume, medicines and household items for personal use.

You may take out of Cuba no more than the equivalent of 5,000 USD in cash.

Export restrictions:

• Cigars: up to 20 may be taken out without documents, up to 50 in original sealed packaging with a hologram, more than 50 only with a shop receipt.
• Paintings and other works of art registered with the cultural heritage fund are taken out with a certificate of purchase.
• Stuffed animals — with a certificate of purchase from the shop.
• Raw coral may not be exported.

Good to know:

Swimming near embankments and on wild beaches without an instructor is not recommended: the seabed is often covered with sharp coral and sea urchins.

Tipping is optional but customary: for porters, waiters, housekeepers, drivers and guides.

Mains voltage is 110 V, 220 V in some hotels. Sockets take flat-pin plugs, so bring an adapter.

Smoking is prohibited in most public places.
