Visa Requirements

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus may enter the UAE without a visa for a stay of up to 90 days.

Required Documents for Entry

1. Passport (the passport must be valid for at least 180 days from the date of the end of the trip);

2. Air tickets or itinerary/e-ticket receipt; 

3. Voucher;

4. Medical insurance policy; 

Travelling with Children:

Children under 18 must have their own passport to travel abroad, and:

– With one parent: a birth certificate is required. Consent from the other parent is not required, unless a formal travel ban has previously been issued by a court.

– Without parents (in a group / with an escort): notarized consent from both parents is required. 

Customs Regulations

The import and export of currency is limited to an amount of funds (currency or traveller's cheques) not exceeding 100,000 dirhams. 

Duty-free import is permitted for persons over 20 years of age (per person): 

• 400 cigarettes/50 cigars or 500 g of tobacco
• non-Muslims may import up to 4 litres of alcoholic beverages.

The following are prohibited from being imported (in addition to commonly known items): 

• photo and video materials, printed materials of an objectionable and frivolous nature
• religious propaganda
• goods manufactured in Israel and South Africa

The following are prohibited from being exported: 

jewellery, 

• jewellery,
•  antiques,
• historical valuables.

Good to Know:

Swimming in the Nile, walking barefoot or lying on the ground without a mat on the banks of the Nile.

Displaying more than friendly affection in public places is prohibited under threat of a heavy fine, and even deportation from the country.

When choosing clothing, avoid mini skirts, deep necklines and sheer dresses worn over bare skin.

Tourists staying in the emirate of Sharjah, the most conservative in this regard, should pay particular attention to their clothing.

An overly revealing outfit can cause you problems not only with the police, but also with local Casanovas, who will immediately start making dubious advances. We recommend that when choosing clothing for walks around the city, you take into account the morals and customs of this Eastern country. 

It is not permitted to photograph women in black abayas. If you wish to photograph a man, be sure to ask permission. 

In the UAE there are certain restrictions and rules for women. On the metro, one carriage has a zone exclusively for women. On beaches, special days are designated for women only and men only. For a man to strike up a conversation with an unfamiliar woman is a breach of etiquette. 

During Ramadan, tourists are advised not to consume any food or drinks, smoke or chew gum in public places. Disregarding this rule may result in detention by the police for disrespecting the laws and traditions. At the hotel, keep valuables in the safe.

Do not leave anything valuable on the bed, otherwise it may be regarded as a tip.

In this country it is strictly prohibited to offer or give alcohol to Muslims.

Drinking alcoholic beverages, including beer, in public places (on a street bench, in a park, on the beach) may be punishable by a fine and imprisonment. Alcohol is available in restaurants and bars at hotels. Takeaway sales are not permitted. In restaurants, fast-food outlets and snack bars located in the city (not at a hotel), alcohol is not served. In the Emirates, the sale of alcohol in shops, cafes and restaurants is restricted (in Sharjah, for example, alcohol is completely banned).
