Visa Requirements

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus may enter Turkey without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, provided that the total duration of stay in the territory of the Republic of Turkey does not exceed 90 days within one year from the date of first entry.  

Required Documents for Entry

1. Passport (the passport must be valid for at least 90 days from the date of the end of the trip);
2. Air tickets or itinerary/e-ticket receipts; 
3. Voucher;
4. Medical insurance policy.

Travelling with Children:

Children under 18 must have their own passport to travel abroad, and:

– With one parent: a birth certificate is required. The consent of the other parent is not required, unless a formal travel ban has previously been issued through a court.

– Without parents (in a group / with an escort): a notarized consent of both parents is required. 

Customs Regulations

There are no restrictions on importing any currency into Turkey. Amounts exceeding 5,000 US dollars must be declared in the customs declaration. 

The following may be imported into Turkey duty-free:

• up to 1 kg of coffee
• no more than 2 L of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of up to 22% and no more than 3 L of alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 22%
•  up to 3 cartons of cigarettes or 50 cigars.

When importing, all electronic equipment (laptops, video recorders, televisions, etc.), jewelry and other valuable personal items (valued at more than 15,000 US dollars), and antique items must be included in the customs declaration. 

Turkish lira may be exported up to an amount equivalent to 1,000 US dollars. 

Valuable personal items (valued at more than 15,000 US dollars) may be taken out of Turkey if they were registered in the customs declaration upon entry into the country, or if they are accompanied by documents confirming their purchase with legally imported currency. The export of antiques from Turkey is prohibited. 

Documents confirming the purchase are required to export a new carpet. 

Antique items may be exported with permission from the authorized national authority. 

Good to Know:

The choice of souvenirs is huge, and prices are generally lower than in any other Mediterranean country. Haggling is customary, and by local mentality — a must.

The sale of alcohol in municipal cafes and restaurants is prohibited in Turkey. You may be arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. 

At the hotel, keep valuables in the safe. Do not leave anything valuable on the bed, otherwise it may be regarded as a tip.
